Atlas Air Worldwide (Atlas) has completed its previously announced strategic investment in Air Atlanta, acquiring a 49% minority stake in the Icelandic ACMI operator and expanding its global wide-body operating platform.

As part of the transaction, Atlas subsidiary Titan Aviation Holdings acquired the aircraft owned by the Air Atlanta group and entered into a long-term leasing agreement under which Air Atlanta will continue to operate the fleet.

Atlas said the partnership strengthens its access to wide-body capacity across key international markets while broadening its global operating platform. Air Atlanta said the deal positions both companies to build on their complementary capabilities and create additional opportunities for customers.

Barclays and Morgan Stanley acted as financial advisers to Atlas, while Norton Rose Fulbright served as legal counsel.
