Biman Bangladesh Airlines (Biman) has ordered 11 Boeing aircraft, comprising five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8 jets, as the national carrier moves to renew and expand its fleet, Boeing released.
The order follows the airlines’ purchase earlier this year of 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX aircraft, its largest-ever Boeing order.
The latest agreement is part of the carrier’s fleet renewal and network expansion plans, the airline said.
“As the national flag carrier, we remain committed to developing Biman’s network and capabilities in a manner that responds to the connectivity needs of the people of Bangladesh, our expatriate community, business and tourism,” said Rumee A Hossain, Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
The airline said the agreement formed part of a broader plan to strengthen Bangladesh’s international connectivity and expand its network.
