Boeing and Turkish Airlines said on Wednesday, September 23, that the carrier had finalised an agreement for up to 150 737 MAX aircraft, concluding discussions that began in 2025 as the flag carrier expands its fleet.
Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines will purchase 100 737-8 aircraft and has secured options for a further 50 737 MAX jets, making it the airline’s largest Boeing single-aisle order.
The deal also includes substitution rights for the 737-10, the largest variant of the 737 MAX family, allowing Turkish Airlines to adjust the aircraft mix as it responds to passenger demand and network requirements.
Turkish Airlines, including its AJet subsidiary, operates more than 200 Boeing aircraft, including the 737 MAX, 787 Dreamliner, 777, 737 Next-Generation and 777 Freighter.
The airline plans to use the additional 737-8 aircraft on domestic and international routes, benefiting from the aircraft’s range, payload flexibility and fuel efficiency on high-demand services.
