Aviation asset management company Setna iO has acquired a first-run CFM56-5B4/3 engine previously operated by Air Cairo, it said.
The engine has about 11,000 cycles remaining on its Fan & Booster and Bearing Support modules and 6,000 cycles on its Low-Pressure Turbine module, providing substantial remaining service life.
Setna iO said the engine also contains core hardware that is increasingly difficult to source in the market.
The company will keep the Fan & Booster, Bearing Support and Low-Pressure Turbine modules assembled to offer customers faster and lower-cost shop visit solutions, said Abhijeet Dey, Senior Vice-President of Asset Management.
“Core hardware like this is hard to find, and it strengthens our ability to support operators across the global CFM56 fleet,” Dey said.
Setna iO said it continues to invest in selected aviation assets aimed at supporting airlines and maintenance, repair and overhaul providers worldwide.
