Aircraft lessor Avolon has placed orders for a total of 250 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, 110 Airbus aircraft, including 35 A330-900 wide-body and 75 A320neo-family narrow-body planes with options for another 100 planes. Furthermore, the company has signed a firm order with Boeing for 140 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
The order brings Avolon’s total purchases of the Airbus A330-900 to 114 aircraft and its orders for the A320 family to about 650.
“We continue to see strong demand for new aircraft, and this order further strengthens our long-term delivery pipeline,” Avolon Chief Executive Andy Cronin said. The purchase would enable the company to support airline customers’ growth and fleet renewal requirements well into the next decade, he added.
The order supports the long-term fleet requirements of Avolon’s airline customers and increases the lessor’s total firm aircraft commitments to 749.
The orders remain subject to approval by the shareholders of Bohai Leasing Co., Ltd., Avolon’s 70% shareholder, with the approval expected before the end of October 2026.
