GE Aerospace has released that Aero-Dienst has taken delivery of its first aircraft powered by the CF34 engine, as part of the German air ambulance operator’s fleet renewal programme. A second aircraft is scheduled for delivery next year.
The Challenger 650 will be converted into an air ambulance after delivery, strengthening Aero-Dienst’s capacity to carry out medical transport missions. Both aircraft will be covered by GE Aerospace’s OnPoint support services programme, providing maintenance and other support throughout their operational lives.
Aero-Dienst conducts international patient repatriation flights, transporting more than 1,000 patients a year from overseas to Germany. Its aircraft serve as airborne intensive care units, staffed by specialist doctors and paramedics to provide advanced medical care during transfers, which can be critical to patients’ survival.
