MTU Aero Engines AG has appointed Katja Garcia Vila as its new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Peter Kameritsch. Vila, who brings 27 years of experience from Continental AG, including a tenure as CFO (2021–2024), will officially join MTU on April 1, 2025, with the transition completing on July 1, 2025.
Outgoing CFO Peter Kameritsch, a 25-year veteran of MTU, chose not to extend his contract, aiming to focus on Supervisory Board roles. During his tenure, Kameritsch oversaw MTU’s profitable growth, its inclusion in Germany’s DAX stock market index in 2019, and successfully navigated financial challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed pride in MTU’s record financial achievements in his final year, including its highest-ever share price.
Gordon Riske, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, praised Kameritsch’s contributions to MTU’s success and welcomed Vila as his successor. Riske highlighted Vila’s operational experience, financial expertise and leadership as pivotal for advancing MTU’s transformation and continued growth.
Vila expressed her commitment to building on MTU’s success, stating, “MTU Aero Engines is a highly successful company with excellent future prospects. Alongside my colleagues on the Executive Board, I am committed to leading MTU into the future and setting the course for continued profitable growth.”
This leadership transition marks a significant step for MTU as it positions itself for further innovation and profitability under its new financial stewardship.
