Eagle Air Aviation, a Part 135 certified charter and organ air transport provider, has announced the acquisition of an EC-135 helicopter, significantly enhancing its operational capabilities. The new aircraft expands the company’s on-demand charter offerings and meets the necessary authorisations for transporting organs, reinforcing Eagle Air Aviation’s commitment to providing fast, flexible and mission-critical services.

The twin-engine EC-135, manufactured by Airbus Helicopters SAS—the helicopter division of Airbus—is now operating out of Harrisburg International Airport. Airbus remains the global leader in helicopter manufacturing, with a 48% share of the turbine helicopter market by revenue and deliveries. Formerly known as Eurocopter, Airbus Helicopters SAS produces highly reliable rotorcraft widely used in medical, charter, and utility services.

With the EC-135 in its fleet, Eagle Air Aviation is better equipped to handle short-to-medium-range missions and provide direct, point-to-point transport. The helicopter’s ability to land at hospitals or office helipads offers considerable time savings compared to road travel, especially in congested areas.

This announcement follows the recent addition of a third Cessna Citation CJ2 jet to the company’s growing fleet, underscoring its strategic expansion across both fixed-wing and rotary operations.

The helicopter is not only ideal for organ transport and executive charter, but is also suitable for tasks such as aerial utility surveillance. According to CEO Tyler Sigel, the company has already seen strong interest from charter brokers and organ transport agencies, thanks to competitive pricing and operational flexibility.
