German aircraft manufacturer General Atomics AeroTec Systems (GA-ATS) has secured the first sale of its Do228 NXT, following the successful roll-out and maiden flight of the new-generation aircraft.
The launch customer is a non-governmental organisation involved in humanitarian operations, which has chosen to remain anonymous for operational reasons.
Designed as a multi-role platform, the Do228 NXT will support a wide range of humanitarian and special mission activities, including search and rescue, medical evacuation, disaster relief, logistics and transport, environmental monitoring, reconnaissance, assessment flights, coordination missions and emergency response support.
The aircraft is particularly suited to operations requiring access to remote or challenging locations. Its short take-off and landing capabilities enable it to operate from short or unprepared runways, while its rapid deployment capacity and wide-area coverage support time-critical missions.
Combining operational efficiency with dependable performance across diverse environments, the Do228 NXT offers a flexible solution for organisations that require reliable air support where access, speed and mission readiness are essential.
