Aviation Technology has launched Aviation Technology Interiors following the acquisition of a turnkey aircraft interiors facility at Anderson Municipal Airport in Indiana. The move marks one of the company’s biggest expansions to date and its flagship growth initiative as it celebrates its 25th anniversary, broadening its capabilities beyond aircraft maintenance and inspections.
The new division enables Aviation Technology to offer a full range of interior refurbishment and customisation services for business aircraft operators, corporate flight departments, charter companies and private owners. Interior work can also be coordinated with maintenance projects at the company’s headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, allowing customers to complete multiple tasks during a single maintenance visit and reduce aircraft downtime.
The acquisition expands the company’s presence into the Indianapolis market and includes a fully operational 10,000 ft² facility equipped with specialised production equipment, woodworking and finishing capabilities, a paint booth, inventory and an experienced workforce. The new division is led by General Manager Gary Lykins, who has 19 years of aircraft interiors experience, supported by a team with nearly 50 years of combined expertise. By acquiring an established operation rather than building a new business from scratch, Aviation Technology said it can enter the market immediately while supporting regional job creation and future growth.
