Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW) has signed a seven-year contract with the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) to provide maintenance services for NH90 Tactical Transport Helicopters (TTH) operated by the German Army.
The first batch of helicopters is due to arrive shortly at EFW’s Dresden facility, where the company will carry out regular inspections, potential modifications and component repairs.
The contract expands EFW’s existing helicopter capabilities and strengthens the strategic role of its Dresden site. It also marks the first time EFW will serve as a direct contractual partner to the Bundeswehr for NH90 maintenance, strengthening its position in the military rotary-wing market and potentially opening the door to further contracts.
EFW has previously supported NH90 maintenance as a subcontractor.
EFW CEO Jordi Boto said the agreement provides the company with long-term planning certainty and creates further growth opportunities. He added that the contract reflects EFW’s performance and expertise, as well as its combination of maintenance capabilities and available capacity, which he said remains relatively limited elsewhere in the market.
