Bombardier and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) have agreed that Bombardier will acquire the assets of MHI Canada Aerospace (MHICA) in Mississauga, Ontario. Subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to be completed later this year.
Through the acquisition, Bombardier will add MHICA’s aerostructure manufacturing expertise and approximately 750 employees to support its aircraft programmes. The transaction will also strengthen Bombardier’s in-house aerostructures capabilities, resilience and operational independence.
MHI will work closely with Bombardier to ensure a smooth transition, maintain continuity and minimise disruption to aircraft programmes. Following completion of the transaction, MHI will provide support during an interim period to help transfer operations and ensure continuity for MHICA’s employees and Mississauga activities.
