Abelo has completed the delivery of three new ATR 72-600 aircraft to Bangladeshi carrier Air Astra, marking the completion of an agreement supporting the airline’s fleet expansion and efforts to strengthen domestic air connectivity.
The latest aircraft is the third and final ATR 72-600 delivered under the deal. The turboprops will support the carrier’s regional operations as the carrier responds to growing demand for domestic air travel in Bangladesh.
The agreement also strengthens Abelo’s position in the regional turboprop leasing market, with the lessor providing Air Astra with new, fuel-efficient aircraft suited to short-haul operations.
Air Astra, part of the US-Bangla Group, is using the fleet expansion to increase capacity and improve service levels while supporting the development of Bangladesh’s domestic aviation network.
