StandardAero has signed a supplier services agreement with GMR Aero Technic, India’s largest third-party MRO provider, to expand on-wing engine support for airlines in India.
The agreement initially covers support for narrow-body engines including CFM International’s CFM56-7B, LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B, StandardAero said.
India is a major market for the latest-generation LEAP engines, which power Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Indian operators have about 1,000 such engines in service and a further 3,200 on order, the company said.
The CFM56-7B, which powers the Boeing 737NG family, also remains widely used in India, with more than 100 engines in service.
StandardAero has provided engine MRO services to Indian operators for several years, including support for the LEAP-1B, AE 3007A regional turbofan and PW127 regional turboprop engines.
The companies said the agreement will combine their capabilities to provide enhanced on-wing support to operators across India.
