Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) and Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG are working on plans to support the long-term development of Dresden Airport as an aviation hub, with a focus on infrastructure needed to accommodate EFW’s growth.
The companies said discussions had centred on EFW’s future requirements at Dresden Airport, including aircraft parking and apron capacity. They will work together to define and coordinate infrastructure needs linked to the expansion of EFW’s operations.
Particular attention will be given to wide-body programmes involving aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and A330, the companies said.
EFW and Mitteldeutsche Flughafen also plan to strengthen cooperation in military aviation.
The companies said EFW’s requirements would be taken into account at an early stage as potential changes to airport infrastructure are assessed.
The aim is to support the site’s long-term competitiveness and create capacity for further growth, they said.
