Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer has delivered the first C-390 Millennium multi-mission transport aircraft to the Uzbekistan Air Force, marking the Central Asian country’s entry as an operator of the aircraft.
The aircraft was handed over at a ceremony at Embraer’s facility in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil, attended by Major General Akhmad Jamolovich Burkhonov, commander of the Uzbekistan Air Force, and Olimkhon Bakiyevich Rustamov, director of the state institution O‘ztextreyd, representing the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The contract, signed at the end of 2024, includes a comprehensive training and support package, as well as the supply of spare parts.
Uzbekistan is the first country in Central Asia to operate the C-390 Millennium, as it seeks to modernise and strengthen its air mobility capabilities.
The aircraft is also operated or has been selected by the air forces of Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, South Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia, Colombia and Lithuania.
Embraer says the C-390 Millennium is designed to provide air forces with multi-mission capabilities for tactical and strategic operations, with an emphasis on interoperability, reliability, versatility and performance.
