Aircraft painting specialist MAAS Aviation has appointed Edwin Poldermans as Head of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), as Group Chief Operating Officer Mark Gidman prepares to step back after 36 years with the business.
Poldermans brings more than 30 years of aviation and aerospace experience, having held senior positions at Fokker Techniek, GKN Fokker and the Netherlands Aerospace Group.
Gidman, who has played a central role in developing the business and expanding its network of facilities, will remain involved as a shareholder and special adviser. Day-to-day operational responsibilities will pass to Poldermans.
“I’m very pleased to be joining MAAS at an important stage in its development,” Poldermans said, adding that the company was well positioned to build on its operational capabilities and meet the evolving needs of airlines, original equipment manufacturers and private jet operators.
Hakker credited Gidman with helping establish the company’s quality standards, customer focus and team culture, describing his contribution to the business as significant.
