MTU Maintenance has signed a three-year agreement with Garuda Indonesia to maintain the airline’s GE90-115B engines, which power its fleet of eight Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
The agreement covers engine MRO at MTU Maintenance’s facility in Hannover, Germany, with the aim of improving engine availability, operational efficiency and fleet reliability. MTU’s Singapore office will provide leasing and asset management support as required.
Director of Maintenance of Garuda Indonesia, Mukhtaris Aris said that the collaboration with MTU Maintenance reflects the airline’s continued commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and operational reliability.
“Maintaining the safety and operational readiness of our fleet, including our B777-300ER aircraft, remains a fundamental priority, particularly given their role in supporting our long-haul network. By leveraging MTU Maintenance’s expertise in GE90 engine maintenance, we aim to further strengthen our fleet readiness and ensure the continued reliability of our operations, enabling us to deliver safe, reliable, and comfortable journeys for our passengers.”
The GE90-110/115B has been part of MTU Maintenance’s MRO portfolio since 2010 and is a key component of its widebody engine business in Hannover.
