Honeywell Aerospace will invest US$500 million in a new manufacturing facility in Tempe, Arizona, to meet growing demand from commercial aviation and defence programmes.
The 300,000 ft² facility, near the company’s global headquarters, will feature digital production systems, modular robotics, automated inspection and digital twins, supported by an end-to-end digital production network.
The investment will add in-house complex machining capabilities, addressing constraints in the supply chain, and increase vertical integration for next-generation products, including Assure advanced actuation systems and Attune vapour-cycle cooling subsystems.
Scheduled to open in late 2028, the facility will support existing programmes, US$15 billion in new Control Systems programme wins and future aviation requirements. It will also increase production capacity for critical defence technologies covered by a supplier framework agreement signed with the US Department of War in March.
The facility is expected to create about 600 jobs over time, expanding Honeywell’s engineering capabilities and skilled workforce. Construction is expected to support more than 1,000 local jobs.
