United Airlines reported its preliminary consolidated traffic results for April 2010. Total consolidated traffic increased in April by 0.6% on a decrease of 1.2% in capacity compared with the same period in 2009. This resulted in a reported April consolidated passenger load factor of 81.4%, an increase of 1.5 points compared to 2009.
Delta Air Lines reported traffic results for April 2010. System traffic in April 2010 decreased 2.2% compared to April 2009 on a 4.1% decrease in capacity. Load factor increased 1.6 points to 83.0%.
SAS Group reported that the traffic development in April was significantly affected by the closure of major parts of the European airspace during almost one week in April due to the volcanic ashes. Republic Airways Holdings reported preliminary passenger traffic results for April 2010. The Company reported a 106% traffic increase from the same month last year, while capacity increased 94%. Southwest Airlines announced that traffic in April 2010 decreased 0.6% compared to April 2009, capacity decreased 2.9% and the load factor for the month was 78.8%, compared to 77.0% for the same period last year.
