GOL Airlines has signed an OnPoint Fuel & Carbon Services agreement with GE Aviation, making the airline the launch customer for the new program. Using proprietary decision software and fuel consulting expertise, GE Aviation will work with GOL to identify and track operational improvements that could reduce the airline’s fuel spend by up to 5%.

GE Aviation’s Customer Technical Education Center (CTEC) is now offering courses on the M601E turboprop engine and will serve as the North American training center for M601 and H80 engines. CTEC is located near GE Aviation’s headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Southwest Airlines notified WestJet of its intent to terminate the agreement to offer connecting service between the United States and Canada with WestJet. Southwest Airlines said that WestJet requested significant changes to the agreement that the two airlines have had in place since 2008, and WestJet has since reaffirmed and clarified its request. JetBlue reported for March 2010 that traffic in March increased 9.1% from March 2009, on a capacity increase of 6.4%. Load factor for March 2010 was 81.3%, an increase of 2.0 points from March 2009. JetBlue’s preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of March increased 17% year over year.

GOL has filed with Delta Air Lines, a request for authorization to implement a code-share agreement with Brazilian and U.S. authorities.
