GKN Aerospace has been awarded a contract by Boeing, to supply complex machined titanium and aluminium parts and assemblies for the horizontal stabiliser of the 787-9 Dreamliner. Manufacture and assembly work will be undertaken at GKN Aerospace facilities in Long Island, NY, and St. Louis, MO, USA.
Goodrich Corporation has received an order from the U.S. Army to provide 80 spare health and usage management system (HUMS) electronic units for the Army’s UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. Boeing and Avolon celebrated the first direct-order airplane delivery to the Dublin-based leasing company. Avolon took delivery of the first of 12 Next-Generation 737-800s ordered in December 2009. The airplane will be operated by Avolon’s airline customer, Japan Airlines.
Russian airline Orenair has signed a long term contract with AFI KLM E&M’s subsidiary EPCOR, covering maintenance for the Auxiliary Power Units (APU) equipping its fleets of Boeing 777 and Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. EPCOR will be responsible for maintenance and repairs on the APUs concerned.
