AWAS delivers first of five planned 737-800s to GOL

AWAS delivered a Boeing 737-800 passenger aircraft to Brazilian-based, low-cost airline GOL. This is the first of five planned deliveries to GOL through early 2013. In March of this year GOL and AWAS entered into a purchase and lease back agreement for 5 Boeing 737-800s that the carrier had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer.

GE Capital Aviation Services delivers two new Airbus A320s to Aeroflot

GECAS announced the delivery of two new Airbus A320s to Aeroflot Russian Airlines. The aircraft come from GECAS’ existing order book with Airbus. Aeroflot operates a fleet of nearly 100 aircraft to more than 100 destinations. The new A320s leased from GECAS are part of the airline’s multi-year fleet renewal program.

Omni Air International completes Boeing 777-200ER aircraft certification

Omni Air International received FAA approval to operate the B777-200ER aircraft including 180-minute ETOPS authority. Omni becomes the first US registered non-scheduled airline to operate the B777-200ER aircraft in passenger service. A second aircraft will be added to the company’s certificate in mid July. Bombardier sells 10 CSeries Jetliners to Sweden's Braathens Aviation

Braathens Leasing Limited, a member of Braathens Aviation of Sweden, has placed a firm order for five Bombardier CS100 and five CS300 mainline jetliners. Braathens also took options on an additional 10 CSeries aircraft. Based on list prices for the CS100 and CS300 aircraft, the firm order contract is valued at approximately $665 million US.
