BA reported that capacity for July 2009 was 2.7% below July 2008, traffic rose by 1.0% and the passenger load factor increased 3.1 points versus last year, to 84.6%. Traffic comprised an 11.0% decrease in premium traffic and a 3.5% increase in non-premium traffic.

Continental Airlines reported a July consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 87.3%, 3.1 points above the July 2008 consolidated load factor. In July 2009 Continental reported a consolidated traffic decrease of 3.4% and a capacity decrease of 6.9% as compared to July 2008.

United Airlines reported its preliminary consolidated traffic results for July 2009. The company reported a July consolidated passenger load factor of 86.9%, consolidated traffic decreased in July by 4.0% on a consolidated capacity decrease of 7.0% compared with the same period in 2008.

Iberia reported that in June the load factor improved 1.9 percentage points, reaching 83,0% in the overall network and reflecting an efficient adjustment of capacity to the demand evolution. Traffic dropped 5.1%, while capacity was reduced by 7.3%. In all the markets the decreases were lower than the ones registered in May.

SkyWest reported a 4.9% increase in traffic for June, while capacity increased 1.9% compared to the same period last year. Load factor was up 2.3 percentage points to 82.3% compared to 80.0% for the same period last year.

Air France KLM reported that traffic for June 2009 was down 6.4% while capacity was down 5% compared to the same period in 2008. The load factor for the month was 80.3%, down 1.1 pts.

Finnair traffic in June was 13.4% below the figures for June 2008. Capacity was down 14.2%, resulting in a passenger load factor 0.6 percentage points higher than last year, 74.0%.

Persistent economic downturn, worldwide, reduced the Lufthansa passenger count in the first six months of 2009. Lufthansa consequently failed to match its performance level in the first half last time round. Passenger numbers at Lufthansa fell in the first half of 2009 by 6.1%, in the same period, capacity was scaled back to accommodate declining

United Airlines reported its preliminary consolidated traffic results for June 2009. The company reported a June consolidated passenger load factor of 85.9%, up 0.5 pts compared to June 2008. Total consolidated traffic decreased in June by 7.5% on a consolidated capacity decrease of 8.0% compared with the same period in 2008.

For the month of June, Air Canada reported a load factor of 80.9% on a consolidated basis with Jazz, versus 82.2% in June 2008, a decrease of 1.3 percentage points. System traffic decreased 9.1% on a capacity reduction of 7.6% system wide.
