For the month of May, Air Canada reported a load factor of 79.5% on a consolidated basis with Jazz, versus 83.2% in May 2008, a decrease of 3.7%. System traffic decreased 10.3% on a capacity reduction of 6.1% system wide. Air Canada mainline reported a load factor of 81.0% in May 2009 compared to 84.3%

Frontier Airlines Holdings announced preliminary traffic results for May 2009. Mainline traffic decreased 15.7% and capacity was down 14.9% from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor of 81.3%, a decrease of 0.9 points from May 2008.

SAS Group’s traffic decreased by 18.1 % during May and seat capacity was down 16.7% vs. 2008. SAS Group carried 2.2 million passengers in May, down 17.1% vs. 2008. Total passenger load factor in May was down by 1,2 p.u. to 71.5%.

British Airways reported that in May 2009 capacity was 5.3% below May 2008. Traffic fell by 6.5%, this resulted in a passenger load factor decrease of 1.0 points versus last year, to 75.1%. Traffic comprised a 17.2% cent decrease in premium traffic and a 4.2% fall in non-premium traffic.

easyJet reported that traffic in May increased 1.5% compared to the same period last year, while the load factor slightly improved by 0.3 pts to 83.5%.

Ryanair reported that traffic grew 9% in May 2009, while the load factor was up 1pt to 81% compared to the same period in 2008.

Delta Air Lines reported traffic results for May 2009. System traffic in May 2009, including both Delta and Northwest operations, decreased 9.7% compared to May 2008 on a 7.9% decrease in capacity, and load factor declined 1.6 points to 82.3%.

Republic Airways Holdings reported preliminary passenger traffic results for May 2009. The company reported a 5.2% traffic decrease from the same month last year, while capacity dropped 4.0%. Load factor was 75.8% versus 76.8% in May 2008. Approximately 1.7 million passengers were carried during the month, a 1.4% decrease from the same month last year.

Allegiant Air reported May 2009 load factor of 90.6%, up 0.7 pts compared to May 2008, traffic was up 23.9%, while capacity was up 22.9% compared to the same period last year.
