American Airlines reported a January load factor of 76.2%, an increase of 2.4 points versus the same period last year. Traffic increased 0.4% and capacity decreased 2.7% year over year.

US Airways Group announced January traffic results. Mainline traffic was down 1.4% versus January 2009. Capacity was down 0.4% versus January 2009. Passenger load factor for the month of January was 75.1%, down 0.7 points versus January 2009.

Starting from 12 February 2010, Estonian Air and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will start code share cooperation on Estonian Air flights on Amsterdam-Vilnius-Amsterdam route. Estonian Air will serve the route as a through flight to/from Tallinn with six weekly frequencies on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

SAS Group’s traffic decreased by 10.9% during December and seat capacity was down 16.4% vs. 2008. SAS Group carried 1.7 million passengers in December, down 7.1% vs. 2008, while the load factor was 69.7%, up 4.3 p.u. vs. December 2008 and up for the sixth month in a row.

Air France KLM released that traffic in December 2009 declined 4.6%, while capacity declined 5.5% compared to December 2008. The load factor for the month was up 0.8 pts. to 79.7%.

BA released that in December 2009, passenger capacity was 4.2% below December 2008, while traffic fell by 4.0%. This resulted in a passenger load factor increase of 0.1 points versus last year, to 76.8%.

Norwegian reported that traffic increased 24% in December 2009 and capacity increased 21% compared to December 2008. The load factor was 76%, up 2 pts compared to the same period in 2008.
