Air France/KLM released that traffic declined 1.6% in January with capacity reduced by 3.4%, leading to a 1.4 pts improvement in the load factor to 78.0%. The group carried a total of 5.1 million passengers (-3.2%).

BA reported that in January 2010, passenger capacity was 8.3% below January 2009, while traffic fell by 7.0%. This resulted in a passenger load factor increase of 1.0 point versus last year, to 74.2%.

Norwegian released that traffic in January 2010 increased 28% compared to the same period last year, while capacity also increased 28%. The load factor for January was 72% which is equivalent to last year.

Republic Airways reported preliminary passenger traffic results for January 2010. The Company reported a 119% increase in traffic compared to the month last year, while capacity increased 102%. Consolidated load factor was 68% versus 63% in January 2009.

Delta Air Lines reported traffic results for January 2010. System traffic in January 2010 decreased 5.0% compared to January 2009 on a 5.6% decrease in capacity. Load factor increased 0.5 points to 76.6%.

Ryanair released that January traffic grew 9% compared to the same period last year and the load factor improved 1.0 ppt to 70%.

For the month of January, Air Canada reported a system load factor of 77.5% on a consolidated basis with Jazz, versus 78.1% in January 2009, a decrease of 0.6 percentage points. System traffic increased 4.1% on a capacity increase of 4.9% system wide.

Southwest Airlines announced that traffic in January 2010 increased 7.1% compared to January 2009. Capacity decreased 6.7% from the January 2009 level and the load factor for the month was 72.1% compared to 62.8% for the same period last year.

Alaska reported an increase in load factor to 77.7% in January 2010, compared to 71.7% in January 2009, on a 1.0% increase in capacity compared to the prior-year period. Traffic in January 2010 increased 9.5% compared to th previous year. Horizon reported an increase in load factor to 68.8% in January 2010, compared to 63.1%

WestJet announced January 2010 traffic results with a record load factor of 78.8%. Traffic increased 9.7% year over year, and capacity grew 6.9% compared to the same period last year.
