Lufthansa is having to cancel flights in the morning of March 5th due to threatened strike action by public service workers at many German airports. In view of the expected industrial action by airport workers, a total of 142 flights will be cancelled as a precautionary measure. Domestic flights will be worst affected. Lufthansa

Lufthansa will recruit 2,400 new employees in 2006. Most of the growth will occur in operational areas, with the company requiring 1,420 flight attendants and 220 ground staff to provide passenger handling services at its Frankfurt and Munich hubs.
