CFM56 Tech Insertion has had a successful entry into service, with the engines performing very well in airline operation. To date, CFM has delivered more than 900 new CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines in this configuration to airlines around the globe.
Tech Insertion became the new production standard for the CFM56-7B and CFM56-5B in 2007. The CFM56-7B variant entered service with Lion Air last May, while Italy’s Air One took delivery of the first CFM56-5B Tech Insertion engine in October.
CFM also announced that it will begin offering Tech Insertion upgrades to current CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B operators in the second half of this year, bringing all of the benefits of these advanced technology enhancements to mature fleets.CFM has identified four unique upgrade configurations matched to customers’ specific requirements.
