Premium AEROTEC GmbH started its operations with legal effect on 1 January, thereby finalizing the carve-out process of the former Airbus sites in Nordenham and Varel and the former EADS site in Augsburg within the expected time frame.
The business activities of the three sites have now been transferred to the new company. Although Premium AEROTEC is a wholly owned subsidiary of EADS, it manages its operations as an independently operated company headquartered in Augsburg. Premium AEROTEC has a workforce of more than 6,000 employees and expects to achieve revenues of around EUR 1 billion in 2009.
