MTU takes majority stake in U.S.-based Retan Aerospace

MTU Aero Engines has acquired a 75% share in U.S. maintenance company Retan Aerospace, based in Dallas, Texas. Retan Aerospace is an FAA and EASA licensed Part 145 repair station that specializes in engine on-wing maintenance and repair, as well as airframe A, B and C checks. The large portfolio of engine capabilities include CF34, CFM56, V2500, CF6, GE90, JT8D, PW2000, PW4000 and RB211. With the takeover, MTU aims to improve its on-wing services for its customer base in the U.S. Moreover, the company expects the acquisition to provide significant impetus to attract new customers within the region. MTU Maintenance plans to expand the scope of its on-wing support services by extending its network in the next few years.
