Dowty Propellers, a part of GE Aviation, opened a repair facility in Australia on January 3rd 2012, to support operators of Bombardier Q400 aircraft in the region. The 19,100 ft² site is certified to Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) and European Air Safety Authority (EASA) standards, and located at Brisbane airport. This marks a long- term investment to support the growing fleet in the region. Initial capability will be to repair blades and spinners. The Brisbane team has completed the necessary training at Dowty’s UK facility and CASA has granted approval for the propeller repair activities on the Q400 aircraft.
