PPG Aerospace introduces aircraft windshield hump seal repair kits

PPG Industries’ aerospace transparencies group has created kits for repairing commercial aircraft windshield moisture seals, which are also called hump seals, during maintenance checks in the hangar or overnight on the line. “Regularly maintaining exterior windshield hump seals can extend the windshield’s service life,” said Aaron Anderson, PPG Aerospace global segment manager, repair services, transparencies. “These kits are easy to use and include all materials needed to complete a repair on an installed windshield.” Seven types of kits have been created for repairing windshield moisture seals on various commercial aircraft.
