Vueling appoints Fernando Val as new COO

Vueling has strengthened its management team with the internal promotion of Fernando Val and Julio Rodriguez. The two directors have been with the company since 2006 and have held various positions of responsibility within operations and revenue for the airline. Fernando Val was previously Director of quality and safety in-flight and has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. He will be responsible for a team of 1,600 people and for the operational area of the company that includes the flight ops, maintenance, airports, ground staff, as well as pilots and cabin crew. Julio Rodríguez was formerly Director of Revenue and becomes the new Network Planning, Revenue Management & Distribution Director. In his new position Julio will manage a team of 40 people and will be responsible for the strategy and development of Vueling’s routes, as well as the price and distribution policy.
