AEI receives EASA approval for the MD-80SF Freighter conversion

Aeronautical Engineers (AEI) has received EASA approval (Supplemental Type Certificate #10055029) for the MD-80SF freighter conversion. The original FAA STC (ST02434LA) for the MD-80SF was received in February of 2013. The AEI MD-80SF comes with an Ancra Cargo Loading System capable of carrying twelve (12) 88” x 108” containers and depending upon the particular aircraft model, has a main deck payload capability of up to 46,600 lbs. (21,137 kg).
