Spirit Airlines flight attendants ratify agreement

Spirit Airlines flight attendants have voted to approve a new five-year collective bargaining agreement with the airline. The agreement contains wage and retirement benefit increases as well as improvements to other benefits. Spirit and the Association of Flight Attendants – CWA (AFA), which represents more than 2,200 flight attendants at Spirit, reached a tentative agreement in March of this year. Voting took place throughout April and ended on May 5th. A record 84% of eligible Flight Attendants voted on the proposed contract, with 79% voting to approve the agreement. The pay increases for the Flight Attendants will take effect immediately. Other provisions in the contract will begin over the next few months, after the agreement is signed.
