Air Canada reports strong financial performance in third quarter 2017

Air Canada has reported third quarter 2017 EBITDAR of CA$1.388bn compared to the previous third quarter 2016 EBITDAR of CA$1.248bn, an increase of CA$140m. The airline recorded a third quarter EBITDAR margin of 28.4%. On a GAAP basis, Air Canada reported third quarter operating income of CA$1.004bn compared to the previous third quarter 2016 operating income of CA$896m. Air Canada reported adjusted net income of CA$950m in the third quarter of 2017 compared to adjusted net income of CA$821m in the third quarter of 2016. The airline reported third quarter net income of CA$1.786bn compared to net income of CA$768m in the previous year’s quarter. In the third quarter of 2017, Air Canada recorded a net income tax recovery of CA$793m on its consolidated statement of operations. This amount is excluded from Air Canada’s reported adjusted net income.
