Etihad Cargo, the logistics arm of Etihad Airways, and SF Airlines, a subsidiary of SF Holding, have revealed plans for a landmark joint venture, marking a historic milestone in the 40-year diplomatic relationship between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and China.
On September 18, a meeting took place at SF Airlines' headquarters in Shenzhen, where key representatives from both airlines gathered to formalise their shared commitment.
This joint venture builds on the success of the existing partnership between Etihad Cargo and SF Airlines, which has already strengthened connectivity and capacity between China, the UAE and global markets. The collaboration has seen both airlines sharing capacity, improving global trade routes and benefitting both companies and their customers.
The newly announced joint venture will elevate this partnership to new heights. Beyond capacity sharing, the agreement represents a strategic alignment, combining the strengths of Etihad Cargo and SF Airlines to offer a comprehensive logistics solution to global customers. Key elements of the venture include increased aircraft capacity, faster transit times, interconnected networks, and expanded distribution of SF Express's international express services. These improvements will provide SF Airlines and its customers with greater flexibility and faster connections to Europe. Additionally, the partnership will increase frequencies, hubs, and destinations, leading to smoother operations and more efficient logistics.
