BOC Aviation has placed its largest-ever order with Pratt & Whitney, selecting up to 220 GTF engines to power as many as 110 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft.

The agreement marks the latest expansion of the lessor’s narrow-body portfolio and extends its 29-year partnership with Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business.

Rick Deurloo, President of Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney, said the order reflects BOC Aviation’s continued confidence in the GTF engine, citing its fuel efficiency and the companies’ longstanding relationship.

BOC Aviation Chief Executive and Managing Director Steven Townend said the order is the largest the company has placed with Pratt & Whitney and underlines the engine manufacturer’s role in supporting its fleet growth. He added that the GTF engine’s lower fuel consumption will help improve the efficiency of the company’s future fleet.
