Pipistrel, a Textron company, has secured its launch customer for the new Voyager training aircraft after Florida-based Epic Flight Academy signed a purchase agreement for up to 50 aircraft.
The deal includes an initial order for 10 Voyager aircraft, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2027, plus options for 20 additional aircraft in 2028 and a further 20 in 2029. The aircraft will support the expansion of Epic’s pilot training fleet as demand for flight training continues to grow.
Epic Flight Academy operates FAA Part 141 and Part 61 training programmes across multiple US locations and currently flies a fleet of around 70 aircraft, including Cessna Skyhawks.
The Voyager has been developed specifically for the flight training market and is designed to comply with the forthcoming Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) regulations, which are expected to broaden aircraft capabilities and training opportunities.
Pipistrel said the aircraft will complement Epic’s existing Cessna piston fleet by providing an efficient, purpose-built platform capable of supporting training from basic instruction through to more advanced flight operations, while helping increase fleet utilisation.
