Paraguay’s air force has become the first military operator in South America of Textron Aviation’s Cessna SkyCourier turboprop, adding the aircraft to its existing fleet of Cessna Grand Caravans.
The aircraft was funded by Itaipu Binacional, the entity jointly operated by the governments of Brazil and Paraguay, and will support relief operations and other missions across the country.
The twin-engine, high-wing turboprop is designed for multi-mission operations in remote and challenging environments, with a focus on reliability, payload capacity and simplified maintenance.
The SkyCourier’s ability to operate with a single pilot and carry substantial loads will allow Paraguay’s air force to expand its role in medical evacuations, patient transport and rapid humanitarian assistance during natural disasters and other emergencies.
The delivery marks another step in the SkyCourier’s expansion into specialised and multi-mission operations, adding a military customer in South America to its growing operator base.
