American Airlines reported a February load factor of 75.5%, an increase of 1.5 points versus the same period last year. Traffic decreased 2.2% and capacity decreased 4.2% year over year.

For the month of February, Air Canada reported a system load factor of 78.4% on a consolidated basis with Jazz (from which Air Canada purchases regional capacity), versus 79.6% in February 2009, a decrease of 1.2 percentage points. System traffic increased 5.5% on a capacity increase of 7.1% system wide.

Republic Airways Holdings reported preliminary passenger traffic results for February 2010. Traffic for the month increased 104% from the same month last year, while capacity increased 88%. The load factor increased 5.0 pts to 72%.

Alaska reported an increase in load factor to 79.8% in February 2010, compared to 73.5% in February 2009, on a 2.4% decrease in capacity compared to the prior-year period. Alaska reported that traffic increased 5.9% in February 2010.

Allegiant Air reported preliminary passenger traffic results for February 2010. Allegiant reported that system traffic increased 18% in February 2010, while capacity increased 17% compared to the previous year. System load factor was up 0.8 pts to 88.2%.

US Airways Group announced February and year-to-date 2010 traffic results. Mainline traffic for the month was down 4.7% versus February 2009. Mainline capacity was down 5.3% versus February 2009 and the load factor for the month of February was 77.6%, up 0.4 points versus February 2009.

ExpressJet reported traffic increase of 15% in January and a capacity inprovement of 9% compared to the same month in 2009. The load factor in January was up 3.8 pts to 72%.

Iberia released that the load factor improved 5.9 points, reaching 80.0%, level record for the month of January in the history of the company. Capacity declined 5.7% while traffic grew 1.8% compared to the same period in 2009.

United Airlines reported its preliminary consolidated traffic results for January 2010. Consolidated traffic increased in January by 2.4% on a decrease of 2.0% in capacity compared with the same period in 2009. This resulted in a reported January 2010 consolidated passenger load factor of 78.5%, an increase of 3.4 points compared to 2009.

SAS Group’s traffic decreased by 5.1% during January and seat capacity was down 12.3% vs. 2009. The load factor was 65.6%, up 4.9 p.u. vs. January 2009. SAS Group carried 1.7 million passengers in January, down 3.7% vs. 2009.
