Korean Air Lines (Korean Air) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dviation Technics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Malaysia’s Dviation Group.
The agreement lays the groundwork for a new strategic alliance within the Asia-Pacific aviation ecosystem, combining the scale and operational experience of a leading global airline with the capabilities of one of the region’s fastest-growing independent aircraft maintenance providers. Through this collaboration, Korean Air and Dviation Technics will pursue joint initiatives to enhance line maintenance services, improve operational reliability and support the development of the next generation of aviation professionals.
Under the MoU, the two parties will establish a framework for mutual support, with a particular focus on enabling Korean Air’s network expansion. This includes ensuring seamless maintenance coverage as the airline introduces new routes and aircraft types. Dviation Technics will provide priority technical support through deployable field engineers, offering rapid response and on-site troubleshooting as required.
The agreement also creates a platform for broader cooperation beyond line maintenance, including base and engine maintenance, aircraft painting, cabin refurbishment and end-of-lease management. In addition, the MoU places strong emphasis on human capital development, with both organisations committed to structured on-the-job training, comprehensive Part-66 and Part-147 technical training, and wider industry outreach to attract and develop future aircraft maintenance professionals.
