Air Europa and Lufthansa Technik AERO Alzey (LTAA) signed an agreement to support Air Europa’s fleet of General Electric CF34-10E engines with maintenance, repair and overhaul services. The airline based in Mallorca currently operates 11 Embraer 195 which are powered by CF34-10E engines.
Structural assembly of the first A350 XWB aft fuselage destined for the first flying A350 XWB (MSN1) has been completed at Airbus’ manufacturing site in Hamburg (Germany). (API) reported that the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for its High Mach Blended Winglets on Falcon 900 Series aircraft on March 8, 2012. Rolls-Royce has commemorated the start of construction for a new London Heathrow Service Centre with a ground breaking ceremony on March 8th. The new facility will provide specialist maintenance and support services for commercial aero engines. PPG Industries’ aerospace transparencies group has created kits for repairing commercial aircraft windshield moisture seals, which are also called hump seals, during maintenance checks in the hangar or overnight on the line. “Regularly maintaining exterior windshield hump seals can extend the windshield’s service life,” said Aaron Anderson, PPG Aerospace global segment manager, repair services, transparencies.
