National Jet Express (NJE), a member of the Rex Group, has announced the commencement of weekly charter services between Brisbane and Orange in New South Wales for mining and civil contractor SEE Civil.
These services mark NJE’s eighth destination on the East Coast since initiating services from Brisbane in July 2023 and its inaugural port in New South Wales.
“We are delighted to be bringing NJE’s state-of-the-art De Havilland Dash 8-400NG aircraft into Orange,” NJE’s interim Chief Operating Officer, Robin Furber said. “Rex has a proud and long history of services to Orange via our scheduled services to Sydney. This charter service further grows our Group’s presence in the region.”
The weekly charter service will utilise NJE’s modern and fuel-efficient De Havilland Dash 8-400NG (‘Next Generation’). With a capacity for up to 82 passengers and boasting jet-like speeds and a modern, comfortable passenger cabin, the Dash 8-400NG has become the preferred aircraft for the mining, resources, and construction industry. This aircraft stands in stark contrast to the ageing 20-30-year old aircraft operated by NJE’s competitors.
In response to the sustained high demand for NJE’s services, the company is committed to expanding its fleet of Dash 8-400NG and Embraer E190 aircraft. NJE recently acquired its seventh 104-seater Embraer E190 aircraft.
The Rex Group is the largest regional operator of RPT services in regional and rural Queensland, serving 24 destinations, and is also expanding its network of domestic services utilising Boeing 737-800NG aircraft.
