Moment, a French company specialising in digital services for the air transport industry, has been selected by Hans Airways, the UK’s newest start-up carrier, to supply its portable IFE (in-flight entertainment) system for onboard entertainment. Moment’s Flymingo box will be fitted aboard its first Airbus A330-200 ahead of the company’s revenue operations.
Hans Airways is a privately-owned UK start-up, originally founded in October 2019. It is a hybrid, long-haul model which intends to operate from the UK’s Birmingham Airport to India, initially serving the Indian diaspora’s needs in Europe – then moving on to North America.
Through the portable W-IFE solution Flymingo Box, Hans Airways’ passengers will be able to connect with a variety of premium content, including films, TV shows, infotainment or games streamed directly from passengers’ own devices. Flymingo presents a compact and powerful server. As an autonomous solution, Flymingo Box adapts to non-connected environments and does not require any additional connectivity, operating with its own Wi-Fi network.
Hans Airways is progressing with its plans to commence scheduled services later this year. Its aircraft feature a cabin layout of 275 economy- and 24 premium-economy-seats.
