STARLUX Airlines of Taiwan has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. With this handover, STARLUX becomes the 11th airline worldwide to operate the largest variant of the A350 family. The aircraft is the first of 18 A350-1000s on order and will join an existing fleet of ten A350-900s already in service.
The A350-1000 is set to play a central role in STARLUX’s premium long-haul network. The airline currently deploys its A350-900 fleet on flagship services from Taipei to major destinations in Europe and North America, as well as selected routes across the Asia-Pacific region. The larger -1000 variant will provide additional capacity and range, supporting further expansion on high-demand intercontinental routes while maintaining the airline’s focus on product quality and passenger comfort.
To celebrate the arrival of its new flagship aircraft, STARLUX has introduced a distinctive special livery. The design blends the airline’s established visual identity with a carbon-fibre-inspired motif, symbolising both technological innovation and the advanced composite materials used extensively in the A350’s structure. A bold ‘1000’ marking on the fuselage draws attention to the aircraft’s status as the largest in-production Airbus wide-body, reinforcing its role at the top of the STARLUX fleet.
STARLUX operates an all-Airbus fleet, a strategy that underpins operational efficiency and fleet commonality. In addition to the A350-900 and the newly delivered A350-1000, the airline flies the A321neo and the A330-900. The A350-1000 has been selected to complement these aircraft seamlessly, offering shared cockpit commonality and lower training and maintenance costs while delivering enhanced performance.
Looking beyond passenger operations, STARLUX is also preparing for future growth in air cargo. The airline has placed an order for ten A350F freighters, signalling its intention to build a dedicated cargo network alongside its premium passenger business.
